(Santa Barbara) Thank you to the residents of Rancho Embarcadero!
On December 13th, the first local community organization to hold a fund raiser for Fallen Heroes Last Wish Foundation raised $1,500. This was done through a Silent Auction at the annual Holiday Party of the Embarcadero Property Owners' Association in western Goleta. Residents from the neighborhood donated prizes for the Auction and secured services and merchandise from local businesses.
Amy Chang, wife of foundation founder Dan O'Dowd, along with Mari Mender, a foundation volunteer, and Dan Mender, Mari's husband, joined the festivities. Mari told everyone about our goal to provide $5,000 to each child of an American service person who died in the current Iraqi conflict.
Amy and Mari were successful bidders for prizes and thus were able to help with this fundraiser.
